Hey All,

I've previously installed iatkos and ideneb on my laptop (Compaq Presario C740EM) with ease. But now, I would like to install Mac OS X 10.6 on my laptop using the retail disc.

1. How would I go about installing snow leopard from a retail disc? Any file edits / hacks I need to know?

2. What kext's would I need for my laptop?

3. How do I install kext's?

My specs are below :

Thanks all in advance :(

Eh... Welcome to the forum! Try searching, and looking at the osx86 wiki for your particular laptop!

Hello,

you should search yourself for kexts.. hlc should give you the answer about your hardware and which kexts you will need.

You can install kexts using "osx86tools" (my fave) or kexthelper etc..

Snow Leopard would be the best if you install the retail.. I'm going to install the retail later... will see how good it really works =)

My 10.5.8 retail nearly works perfect.. :D
