I've just managed to do a native install of osx86 10.4.5 and the manual upgrade of 10.4.6 thanks to the excellent resources provided on this board. I've got sound and NIC working, but can't seem to get any video cards working proper. CD-ROM also doesn't seem to be working.

My hardware:

Intel Celeron 2.93ghz

VIA P4M800

VIA AC97 Audio (working!)

VIA Rhine II NIC (working!)

Lite-on 811s DVD-RW (working!)

Samsung 40x cdrom (Detected, but not working... board guru's have any suggestions?)

The cdrom aside, my main issue has been video support. I have 3 cards available to me, the VIA Unichrome onboard, an ATI Rage 128, and a Geforce FX5200.

My original idea was to change the hardware id in the info.plist in NVDAHAL30.kext to match my video card. This loads the driver, but fails at a dependancy in nvdaresman.kext . It would appear the included driver file is missing quite a few function calls, the PPC code seems to be there but that file is missing the x86 code. Also, the Rage128 drivers seem to be there , but not operational. Anyone got any ideas for this one? I have downloaded and installed the macvidia driver, but was hoping there was some way to get the apple driver for any of these cards working.

Finally, and most importantly of all... I can't seem to get starcraft to run. It installs off the OSX install update from blizzard's page, but exits after the resolution selection menu.

Sorry for the huge post... tried everything I could before bringing the questions here. Hopefully someone has some suggestions. Thanks!

The Nvidia drivers and ATI Rage drivers are PPC only, which means you won't be able to use them. There are OSX86 drivers being written for nvidia at www.macvidia.com. However, it does not support 3d acceleration yet. Only resolution switching and refresh rate switching are supported right now.
