egis45
Hello, I installed an iAtkos v7 and got my internet, sound and graphics card working but since the very first boot, the time it takes to start up the OSX is around 8 minutes... It takes about 3 minutes at booting "Apple Logo" and then another 3 or 4 if not longer at the blue screen before desktop shows up. The OSX itself is stable and never crashed since installing, ony time i got a few kernel panics was at boot after updates... I have a HP Pavilion a6230 with MSI Nvidia GeForce GTS 250. I read people using something called DMESG or something like this to create something like a log file of the last boot but i couldn't find how to do it, maybe it would be helpful, sorry. I am new to this, as you can probably tell Please tell me what info you need and i will try to supply it to you, i really appreciate your help, thank you. Here is a screenshot of IceClean if it's any help to you... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/204523-very-long-boot-time/ Share on other sites
Lord_Jeremy
Right then, open up Terminal (it's in /Applications/Utilities/) and type "sudo dmesg >> dmesg.txt" and press enter. You'll be prompted for your admin password. Then in your home folder you'll fine dmesg.txt. Post that here. Alternatively, you could also post the relavent section of your kernel.log (open Console, also in the Utilities folder). Don't post the whole thing, it's probably massive.
