Hey all,

I've almost got everything working EXCEPT for AC97 Audio and Rebooting (going to wait until the end to do the HEX edit fix for that!)...

I followed the AC97 audio guide on the Wiki

http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/Audio

And following step 14, on a system restart I find that I indeed CAN change the volume and stuff (according to the guide, my sound should be working)...

However, I have no sound. Any ideas on what the issue is?

My specs:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (Newcastle)

ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe (Nforce4)

AC97 onboard Audio

Nvidia 6800 Ultra OC (256MB)

PS2 Mouse&Keyboard

Marvell Yukon onboard Ethernet(working!)

I edited the: AudioIntelICH.kext pList file....however, I did NOT see an entry for:

<string>**other ids**</string>

Instead I edited:

<key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> and added my key to the end of the list = 0x005910de

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!!

if you have sound controls and can change the volume, try plugging in your speakers to the microphone, and other sound related jacks. test all your holes.

remember to have some music playing. :)

Good call...tried it but no luck. I have 6 ports on the A8N-SLI Deluxe:

MIC, Front, Line In, Bass, Side, Rear

My System Preferences say that sound will be played through Line Out

and the the Output tab reads:

Name: Line Out Port: AC97 Audio (PCM)

change the output to the second choise

Can't change output choice - fixed at Line Out

Going to try mac-nipulate's tutorial (thanks man!) and will post results...

RESULTS:

Mac-nipulate - Under the Audio configuration in Utilities, for output I only have

the option for 2-channel 16-bit (which DOESN'T work when I click to configure speakers and

test by clicking on a speaker) =(

Any other ideas?
