tech head
So, i finally got my hackintosh working with everything going great. I had full resolution and QE/CI on my nvidia geforce 6200. I had this all going with kalyway 10.5.2. I had installed ilife by going into /system/library/coreservices/ and modifying the systemversion.plist file to 10.5.6. FROM THIS <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>ProductBuildVersion</key> <string>10C540</string> <key>ProductCopyright</key> <string>1983-2009 Apple Inc.</string> <key>ProductName</key> <string>Mac OS X</string> <key>ProductUserVisibleVersion</key> <string>10.5.2</string> <key>ProductVersion</key> <string>10.5.2</string> </dict> </plist> TO THIS <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>ProductBuildVersion</key> <string>10C540</string> <key>ProductCopyright</key> <string>1983-2009 Apple Inc.</string> <key>ProductName</key> <string>Mac OS X</string> <key>ProductUserVisibleVersion</key> <string>10.5.6</string> <key>ProductVersion</key> <string>10.5.6</string> </dict> </plist> (just a tip) so anyways, itunes 8 stops working with this hack, so you have to install itunes 9. That was all well and good, but then it said that to use the store i had to install safari 4. So i download the safari 4 installer and it tells me that i need to upgrade my system to 10.5.8, right. Then i go change the plist file again. after that it tells me that i need a security update. So i download and install the security update which was a terrrible idea. (we are making hackintoshes and i install something from apple that has security in it ) So now i am stuck in a boot loop. I have tryed -z, -x, and -s to no avail. I just see the darwin screen, then the apple logo white screen and the little spinning wheel, and then it goes back to the dell logo. any help would be greatly appreciated. I would really hate to do a reinstall. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/204300-safari-4-update/ Share on other sites

Lord_Jeremy
You might try booting with the -v flag in case there's some message that suggests a different probably. Sorry when I read your OP I thought you had already tried -v.
