yamcha
Hi guys, I just bought an extra hard drive, and I was wondering if it would be possible to run RAID on snow leopard? they are both identical HD's.. If it is possible how do I go about enabling raid? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/204198-is-raid-possible-with-snow-leopard/ Share on other sites
gp-se
it is posible, I'm running RAID 0 right now! http://aquamac.proboards.com/index.cgi?boa...&thread=908 just make sure you follow that guide, I was getting boot errors, turned out the "Boot" file from chameleon didn't get installed on both drives. Akshunhiro
Just wanted to bump this as I've never dealt with RAID before and wasn't 100% on which method to use. I've read that the onboard raid controllers aren't compatible so you guys are just doing this straight through disk utility? I've got 2 WD1001FALS drives which I'd like to setup as RAID0 but this would just be for storage, not for the OS. I'll be getting an SSD for the OS. The array will only be used in OS X so I can simply leave the SATA settings in BIOS to AHCI and do it all through disk utility? That would be swell!
