First of all, hello everyone. This is my first post here!

I recently got a G4 in a garage sale an thought it'd be cool to bring it to the twenty-first century.

So I began cutting and drilling it to fit my ASUS P5KPL-AM.

It's all set, but i've got some questions:

  • The motherboard is compatible with osx86. (This is not a question, and the answer can't be no. Otherwise, i'll commit suicide ;) )
  • I really want to reuse the power, restart and the (i dunno what) buttons. Do they work??
  • I'd love to place some leds to make it look cooler. Can i grab the power from a USB port?

Thanks a bunch!!

Dam man I just junked an old late G3/early G4 I cudda taken a look inside for you but alas :(

I'm sure your mobo will be compatible mate just have a trawl through the many different guides on here/google/other sites.

Word of warning - don't give up easily...I was close to getting a fully functional hackintosh each time I installed Snow Leopard and eventually managed to do it but there was only ONE guide which worked for my particular hardware mix. I must have tried 10 different guides, no joke! I've found people to be slow on this forum to reply (and plus its christmas!) - I'm sure someone who has taken a G4 apart will be around to answer your questions just have patience :)

Best of luck with the build

Tom
