Best Motherboard for Snow Leopard > Core i5

I've been following this forum since I first bought my Macbook Air, and fall in love with OSX. I've installed an hacked distro of Leopard in my uber-Overclocked desktop system, and I'm almost 100% mac user since.

 

I'm planning a new rig, which I'll buy and assemble in the next week.

 

I'd love to hear successful stories about MOTHERBOARDS for Core i5. I have a love affair with Asus, but all the suggestions are welcome.

 

Can you please post the drivers/workarounds you needed to get the motherboard fully working ?

 

I'm planning to use my old NVidia 8800GT, is it OK?

Hi the m finger,

 

Asus MB have problem audio chip, Gigabyte Motherboard are more successfull to run Snow leopard. My GA P55 UD3R with I7 860 is working 100% with SL 10.6.2.

Before reading your post, I've spent long hours in the forums, and I've narrowed my choices to 2 motherboards:

 

- GA-P55M-UD2

- GA-P55M-UD4

 

It seems to be a little more info about the first. If I could find a good GUIDE for the GA-P55M-UD4 I'd probably chose it. The prices are 99Eur vs 129Eur. Though, I can't find a Guide to any of these 2

 

Any suggestion regarding these 2 boards / any cool Guide ?
