marco772
Hi, I know this is probably easy but i can't get it to work! I want to change my font colour in Adium, so my replies are in blue. Then, when I look at the transcripts, it'll be easier to quickly differentiate who said what! How do I do this, I went into the prefs but, when I change the colour on there and "set" it, it still reverts to black! Is this me, or is it tricker than it ought to be? Seems like it should be a simple thing really! Anyone care to shed some light on this? Sull
Look at the screenshot below. Press the "Set Font" button and in there you have the option to choose color. Alternatively you can choose the color from a chat window itself! Alternatively you can choose the color from a chat window itself! Thanks. I've been trying that, it just doesn't seem to stick is all. That's the problem I've been having, it doesn't seem to retain the settings and I click on the colour button and change it but it just stays black most of the time! On a separate note, how do I alter the font for INCOMING messages? The "Set Font" option just changes the font as as I type as far as I can tell...I'm chatting to someone now and, for example, the text on their incoming messages is really tiny! I can't see how to alter that. I know it's probably easy to do, I've included a pic to show which boxes I have checked... All I really want is either MY text to appear in a colour other than black, or for the incoming messages to appear as a different colour... It may just be the old Hackintosh being dicky with Snow Leopard... We shall see... Sull
Did you perhaps install a beta v 1.4 ? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/202611-adium-font-question/#findComment-1365908 Share on other sites
marco772
Did you perhaps install a beta v 1.4 ? Not sure how to check, but my housemate installed it from his Snow Leopard CD, so I guess it wasn't a beta one? I haven't, upon his advice, installed the latest update yet for fear of it messing other apps up! Sull
I also found. If you go to change the font, at the bottom of the font window you will see a large button that says "Set This As My Default Font" try pressing that button. I also notice my font color does not change. The person you are catting with may see the font color, I don't know... Cant' honestly say I have successfully changed the font color.... In the top, go to adium, "About Adium" that will tell you the version 1.3.8 is latest or you are beta... It's not a HUGE issue, but it strikes me as something that should be a lot easier to configure than it appears to be. Thanks for looking!
