UpwardSpiral
Title says it all. Trying the chain method (I'm open to any method, I just want osx to work and have XP as a backup....) and getting "chain booting error". I've searched for the solution but all of them are dead ends that usually go back to 2006 or so? Any help would be great... I'm about to give up. cocotutch
No. I had a Dual-Boot with Windows Vista and Mac OS X Leopard. Then I had one with Windows XP and Mac OS X Leopard. Then Finally, Windows 7 and Leopard. Snow Leopard seems to HATE Windows so don't try a Dual-Boot there. I don't understand it actually. Dual-Boots worked about a month ago and now they don't. The only change I have made is installing Chameleon RC4... The only way to fix the Chain Booting Error is to try and have Chain0 in the Root folder of your hard disk, and that didn't work for me. I repartitioned my Snow Leopard startup disk to the whole HDD after a solid 4 hours of trying, forgetting Dual Booting and I resorted to VMWare Fusion to run XP. Maybe you should try that. cocotutch Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/202562-anyone-ever-fix-the-chain-booting-error/#findComment-1360816 Share on other sites

UpwardSpiral
I have a dual boot XP, with chameleon bootloader, I didnt use a chain 0 - try removing it. So you just made a partition for osx, set it as active, installed with chameleon checked in customized options, and it worked when you booted up? Guess I can give it a shot.
