Frederik Schubert
A year ago I started working on my Hackintosh and got it working. Everything was fine until I replaced my Nvidia Geforce 7600GS with a Sapphire HD4850 (1 slot DVI, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA) for better performance in games on windows. Now I reinstalled iAtkos v7 on my computer and everything worked except for the graphics. I just could run the system in VESA-mode (1024x768). I tried all the different kexts from netkas and other tutorials (e.g. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=155477) but nothing worked. So now can anybody explain to me what I have to do to change resolution and get QE/CI to work? p.s. Sorry for my language mistakes or probably for not finding it by myself using search-funciton. scwhar
I think maybe best bet is install 10.6 - 4850 support is native. Although there are problems especially if you update to 10.6.2 or don't have a dual DVI card (sorry) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/202107-cant-get-hd4850-to-work/#findComment-1358035 Share on other sites
Frederik Schubert
I think maybe best bet is install 10.6 Yes I tried to update to 10.6.0 yesterday but the guide was not that good. I have an AMD processor. Do you know a good guide for it? Alex HQuest
Everything was fine until I replaced my Nvidia Geforce 7600GS with a Sapphire HD4850 (1 slot DVI, 1 HDMI, 1 VGA) for better performance in games on windows. I have this exact same card, and so far it doesn't work. I wish I could replace this card with a 2-DVI one. These are by far the easiest ones to work. If you have this option, then go for it.
