kassar87
Hi again guys, I've tried editing the AirPortAtheros kext in IO80211Family (adding my device ID) but to no avail. I recently found this http://netkas.org/?p=315 << Which gives me a file to use. It says to add your deviceID to it (mine is actually already included, 0163c,13 Netgear WPN311) The next step it says is to install it into the "Extra Mkext" I've managed to show hidden files and get to my Extra folder, and i can see the Extensions.mkext in there. How does one go about installing an extra kext to it? Thanks for any help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/201972-install-to-extra-mkext/ Share on other sites
Rushabh
as far as i know yu cannot edit it, you have to rebuild it you can try using kext utility(google it) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/201972-install-to-extra-mkext/#findComment-1357203 Share on other sites
kassar87
as far as i know yu cannot edit it, you have to rebuild ityou can try using kext utility(google it) Thanks, apparently I was failing pretty hard at google... Found the apple Mkext tool, which as far as I know should allow me to unpack my current mkext, add this new kext, then repack it. Fingers Crossed. [edit] zzz didn't work, and stopped my system from being able to boot (wheel spins eternally on startup, nothing else happens) Thought I was smart this time and did a time machine backup... Tried to restore, it got to 122% before it said it was done, and then gave me a boot error. I'm no good at this >< [/edit] Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/201972-install-to-extra-mkext/#findComment-1357205 Share on other sites
