dransiksucks
Okay, I am running 10.6 snow leopard, and I just added in this Belkin F5D5000 card. It came with a cd with the MAC driver, installed, perfect. Got on the web, and it was super slow. Went to speedtest.net and saw my download was like 0.5 Mbit/s and upload 0.9 Mbit/s. Thats really slow, since my other computer with 10/100/1000 gets 10.0 Mbit/s and 1 Mbit/s upload. So i went on the Belkin website, saw they had a new driver, removed the old one, and installed this one. Still slow. Nothing different.... so figured it has to be faulty... but then I tried it on my Windows 7 partition, windows installed automatically, and it was getting 10.0 Mbit/s and 1 Mbit/s upload.... the same card... so it has to be the MAC.. Does anyone know if this card has a different driver, or do I have to set it up differently? I normally use Belkin F5D5005 10/100/1000 LAN Gigabit card... and its usually fast just like on Windows. I cheaped out this time, it was like 8 dollars for the F5D5000, instead of 20 dollars for the F5D5005. With the other card I installed the same exact way, and it was fast. But this Belkin F5D5000 is just terribly slow... is it because its 10/100??? I personally don't think so.. because my other computer runs through the motherboard using only 10/100 card and it gets 10 Mbit/s download. Anyone know whats up? Or heard about these cards just being {censored}? My system specs are in my signature.
