I am looking for some suggestions on a mATX motherboard that is running a new chipset such as maybe a G45, and has to be LGA775 that I can install the vanilla OS X on, without any complications. Something similar to the Lifehacker guide with a mATX board. Unfortunately I am limited to mATX with my case size. I have searched and cannot find anything besides the older G41 and G33 boards but they cannot be found or are way to low for my needs. It does need to run DDR2 also.

Also sorry if this is in the incorrect location, I was not sure where to post this.

Thanks in advance.

zotac have done some mATX mobos... i have the GF9300 mobo from them in mATX and they have a GF9300 in mini-itx size with build in wifi... and they are socket 775.. just take a look at the zotac homepage. i will much rater take one of them as the onboard gfx works in osx just fine.. (THe GF9300 chipset is a version of the GF9400 chipset just with a little slowere gpu) And as it is the same as the GF9400 everything works oob beside audio witch on the mATX can get working with the Gigabyte ALC888 kext (Atleast in snowleopard)

Hi,

I'm also looking in something similar, and this zotac mobo are interesting.

I've found this specification for the 9300:

Zotac GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi PCB04 (GF9300-I-E)

supporting dual and quad core socket LGA 775 processors

nVidia MCP7A chipset, <---ARE THIS CHIPSET USABLE WITH OSX?

nVidia Geforce 9300 graphics, <--THIS IS GOOD I THINK

RAID 0, 1, 0+1, 5; <--Not So Important

Realtek ALC662 5.1 Audio <--ALSO THIS SHOULD WORK IN OSX

and Integrated 802.11b/g Wi-Fi.

Up to 8GB of DDR2 667/800MHz RAM;

Gigabit LAN; <--4 THIS I HAVE NO IDEA

VGA, DVI-I & HDMI graphics outputs;

S/PDIF; eSATA; 1

2x USB 2.0 (inc 6 internal)
