Eeepc OSX86 - Game Recommendations

Hi,

 

I'll be spendig three weeks in the middle of nowhere with my new Snow Leopard Eeepc 1005HA starting at the end of the week and I really want to have at least one decent game with me, that I could play every now and then.

 

I've installed World Of Warcraft and believe it or not, it runs quite good with all settings to minimum and I would definitely be playing that, however I won't have internet access.

 

I though about playing Diablo II, but I have serious sound issues (sound being choppy and lagging) which basically kill the fun, also I've been playing that game to an extend in the past that I don't think I will be enjoying it all to much.

 

Of course there is SCUMMVM and DosBox, but I'm not feeling like playing through for the 3rd or 4th time and I'd rather play something that I couldn't have played on a C64.

 

So here's the question: Can anyone recommend a good, not too old (and preferably free or at least available for digital purchase) game that runs under OS X and is likely to perform alright on the eeepc?

Ooo... I've got this decently old game called Deimos Rising. It was originally bundled with my old iBook G3. I spent many hours playing that one. Amazingly it still runs in Rosetta. Civilization 3 is another favorite of mine. The Mac version of Civ 3 Gold or whatever plays just fine on my desktop, I'm pretty sure it's Intel native. I used to love StarCraft, but you might have issues getting such an old game to run. Oh, Plants vs. Zombies is a lot of fun, and it's pretty cheap. I played Call of Duty 2, but your video hardware might not support that. Same with Star Wars Battlefront, though that game was only fun after I modded the heck out of it! So yeah.
