tga22
Just wanted to weigh in and give back, Installed iDeneb 1.6 with hardly any issues! I recently built this computer to dual boot win 7 and os x, and have both working fine. my hardware: ga-p55m-ud2 i7 860 8600 gt g.skill 4gb 1333 ram I followed Cornbread's install post for the kext's and boot flag (cpus=4 busratio=20), as i am not very tech savvy. As far as i can tell, everything works: firewire, wireless, haven't tested time machine, QE works, graphics card seemed to be supported without any additional tweaking. the only issues i can tell: - fairly long boot time (little over a minute) - sometimes it doesn't boot (hits apple gray screen and freezes) - initially after changing the boot plist to flag the cpus=4 busratio=20, it didn't recognize, but appears to be working now. - the time machine, wireless, eject, sound, and time menus in the top bar disappeared for a while, but have reappeared. not sure what that's all about. - no Extra folder for chameleon (i tried finding with the terminal, showing hidden files, just doesn't exist, i guess) I was trying to change the theme, but no big deal, just eye candy any way. - haven't forced sleep, but I'm pretty sure it's not working Overall, I'm satisfied, it runs fast, seems faster than win 7, and it only recognizes 4 cores. I've been using an iBook G4 as my main computer for a long time and wanted a new mac, but also wanted to try out win 7. Thanks to the OSx86 community for working so hard on this, my first pc build went flawlessly, and I'm glad I did it this way. p.s. If there is anything I'm missing in regards to the boot time and the boot freezes, any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks again. Especially the P55M-UD2. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/201324-success/#findComment-1353452 Share on other sites
