Guest RevisionZero
Hey guys, I have a fully functional install of 10.6.2, with all drivers and everything working very smooth. I am now left with two problems. Snow Leopard only says I have 1 core for my Core i5, where it should be 4. I hear a lot of talk about editing DSDT.aml however I don't know what to edit or where the file is to edit. I have Evo DSDTSE Editor but don't know what to do with it. Another problem which may be related to only 1 core being recognized is I am unable to play video smoothly at all, youtube/quicktime anything is really choppy, I know quartz and CI are enabled and my video card is fully recognized to a tee in system profiler. Maybe I still need NVKush? Hope to hear from a few of you guys, any assistance is appreciated thanks. Lord_Jeremy
Hmm. Are you booting with only one CPU? That is, do you have the extra cores disabled in your BIOS or your Boot.plist? Also, choppy H.264 (youtube) videos indicates you're missing some element of hardware acceleration. I can't say whether that's a CPU or GPU problem. In earlier versions of Mac OS X, there was no GPU hardware acceleration for H.264 decoding, but I think Snow Leopard does have it.
