Alex HQuest
If you are not in the mood of flashing your video card with a different BIOS, then you may try to update your boot loader to PC_EFI v10.5 and getting a couple of X1950Pro BIOSes from http://www.techpowerup.com/. Put them under /Extra folder (as bios1.rom, bios2.rom, etc), and play with the bootloader flag "-useatirom=bios1.rom" until you find out one which works for you. I once had a GeCube X1950Pro 256Mb AGP, which was acting exactly as you described yours. Turned out I flashed it with a PowerColor BIOS, and it fixed this issue. Djtzn
Hi Alex! first of all thanks for the reply...i'm trying this useful solution....but i have three questions for you: 1. on the site that you linked me i found only PCI-E bioses for the X1950 PRO...it is the same as te AGP bioses? 2. when i boot up with "-useatirom=biosx.bin" i neeed to install all the Bronya's Kexts (incluse Natit.kext")? 3. I download bin files and i modified their extension in *.rom it is correct? thanks thanks thanks thanks! Alex HQuest
Regarding PCI-E and AGP BIOSes, no, they are slightly different, but as you are not going to flash your card, they should work. Still, looks like TechPowerUp! wiped out all X1950Pro AGP BIOSes :/ Regarding Natit.kext, yes, you should definitively use all files as provided by Bronya's installer package/script. Regarding file names, it is just a fancy thing. When you find out one which do works, suggest you to rename it to ati_XXXX_YYYY.rom and leave Chameleon to auto load it for you, without having to pass any parameter on command line or on boot.plist. Do not forget to replace XXXX to 7280 (IIRC, this is X1950Pro's card model ID, please correct if it i am wrong), and YYYY should be 1002 (ATI ID). Cheers.
