organik
I have a rebel EFI install of Snow Leopard. Seemed to be working fine, until I installed VMWare Fusion 3. Now I'm stuck at boot logo. Tried to uninstall in single user, but version 3 doesn't have the same uninstall tool earlier versions did. I should mention the GUI uninstaller did not get copied to my HD. Can I mount a usb drive in single user and run it? How would I do that? Any other ideas? Thanks for your help. I had a similar issue it was related to the CPU and the type of kernel used, to find out which kernel your using check your com.apple.boot.plist, you'll must like have to start over with the install I could get in to run the uninstaller. create your base image and copy it over to a BACKUP Partition preferably on an other drive with Carbon Copy Cloner its a free download Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/201227-snow-stuck-on-boot-after-vmware-fusion-3-install/#findComment-1359320 Share on other sites
organik
Ended up just starting over from scratch. Rebel EFI is the most functional hackintosh i've used, except for sleep. Using a Gigabyte UD3P board. Only thing not working is sleep. Got a current backup partition running with SuperDuper!, in case I screw things up again. For emulation, I've got VirtualBox, and it seems to not cause the same problems as VMWare. Thanks for your help.
