I'm on a Dell Inspiron E1705 (9400) and I can't seem to get the installer to boot. I get to the Apple Logo with the spinning wheel and then it sits there for around 2 minutes and then kernel panics. When I boot in verbose, it stops at something about an InternalModem thing using 6.0 kernel. I have an ATI Radeon X1400 Video Card not an the NVIDIA GMA950. I don't have an option to change SATA to AHCI in my BIOS because Dell left that option out. Does anyone have any clue what I should do? I have blank DVDs, blank CDs, a 750GB External USB Hard Drive, the ISO for the original disc that my friend who bought it gave me, and a working Leopard Hackintosh (different computer).

I've made very little progress. I can't seem to get my internal trackpad and keyboard working once it says to select a language. With a USB Mouse the mouse moves very oddly (move the mouse a little and then it does nothing then jumps half the screen) so it's not usable. Can anyone identify what that problem is and help me get my trackpad and keyboard working? I am currently on Leopard 10.5.2 on the laptop I'm trying to install on so I have access to all the kext files I need here.

I'm a bit stuck too. I was successfully able to get kalyway 10.5.2 installed fine a few weeks ago, but sadly my video card went bad and off it went back to Dell for repair. But when I got it back, no hackintoshing works on it... Not really sure what they did.

Here are my Specs:

Dual Core 2 ghz

2GB Memory

512MB NVidia

100GB HD

I've been following the guides here:

What I'm having issue with is, once the install is done, the hackintosh doesn't get very far.. It starts to book, the apple logo appears, but the screen does a funny wash/refresh to a black screen. I sometimes see a cursor, or the swirly busy cursor, or sometimes I get a blue screen...

Not sure what to do beyond this, if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks!

I'm currently running 10.5.2 and it sounds like your problem is that you have Dual-Core turned on in the BIOS. So when you boot up, use F2 to get into the BIOS setting and under Performance turn Dual-Core off. There are instructions to make it work with dual core as well.
