If I can get started with os x on this board, then I may be able to help out once I get to where you're at. I was recently successful with a i5 750 + p55 gigabyte UD3R setup, so I'm wondering if similar steps will apply. swinte
I would also like to know about this. I am looking for an ultra low cost hackintosh, hoping to use the built video. any info is appreciated. Ditto scushkadee's request for more info from anyone else who has used this board successfully. I've had good luck with other ECS boards in the past, but this one is new to me. I've had good luck with the MyHack Installer in the past, so I'm thinking that will be the first method I try. I'll post back in this thread with installation results and anything else I find. swinte
I tried using the MyHack Installer method today and did not have any luck. I tried booting from a patched Snow Leopard installer via a USB flash drive as well as via a hard with Snow Leopard fully installed and patched from another system. Boot would always stall at a message something along the lines of "ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::start - wait for service..." This is with PC_EFI V10.5. Tried both with and without the -x flag. I'll try Empire EFI next so see if I have any better luck with it. My system specs: ECS G41T-M (V2.0) Intel E7400 Core 2 Crucial Ballistix 2 GB Western Digital 1 GB on SATA port 1 All BIOS options were set to what looked like reasonable settings based on my experience with another ECS board (ECS 945 GCT). Here is a attachment http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&id=66199 that has a sleepenabler.kext in it. Copy it over to your Extra/Extensions folder and run KextUtility after that. Reboot, and you should have sleep. Also in the attachment is VoodooHDA. Install the kext, install pref pane, and you will have sound working (even though it will not show up in the built-in audio) Excellent! Thanks for posting the guide, I'll give that a shot on my board. No problem, it took me about 10 installation to make it happen Hope it will help people to save some time Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/200116-ecs-g41t-m-v20-1062/#findComment-1395877 Share on other sites

I have succesfully loaded iAtkos v5i on an Asus P5N Sli-e mobo with an Intel QX6850, IDE DVD-RW, 3 SATA 500GB HDs, and 2x2GB of DDR2 800Mhz RAM. I've been unable to load iAtkos V7 or Hazard Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on this machine. I had my sister order an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93Ghz processor and ECS G41T-M mobo with 2Gb of DDR2 800Mhz Ram to install OSx86 because she saw how smoothly my setup was running. She has an IDE DVD+/-RW, and a 200GB SATA HDD. She is going with the onboard Intel GMA X4500 onboard graphics for now but I have been unable to successfully boot OSX up to this point. I have successfully installed Iatkos V5 and V7 as well as 10.6.2 by Hazard on this setup with no problems but I have not been able to get any of them to boot to the desktop. I've tried every bootloader and every kernel available. I've tried booting with -f, -s, -w, -v and I've tried many of those in conjunction with eachother but the system just hangs at the white apple screen with the spinning gear. I haven't tried cpu=1 yet but I want her to be able to take advantage of both cores. If anyone has ANY useful insight to get this install to boot up, I would be extremely grateful. She is losing her patience with me after 20 different install attempts. I would like to be able to boot solely into OSX. No partitions. I have been using the GUID partition scheme. Thanks!! My understanding is that the onboard X4500 are not supported by OSX at all. I'd say toss a video card in there and see if that helps. Quick update on my install, I've been trying to follow Wenter's guide and had run into some challenges. For a lark I tried the newest 1.0 release of MyHack Installer and I'm now booting successfully! Still haven't gotten my network config working, but I'm past the biggest hurdle at least.
