avatar69
Does anyone know if Apple updated their original release of the video drivers that came with Bootcamp, or if other drivers are available BESIDES the Omega drivers? I am trying to run a game called WWII online within XP (Bootcamp) and when I start the game it loads the screen and mouse UPSIDE down. If I use the Omega drivers - its significantly slower in game - but it loads the game correctly. The other problem is I havent been able to use an external monitor with XP. The monitor is detected within (either) of the drivers, but it doesnt power up no matter what I do. The strange thing is that I have external monitor immage while XP is booting, and then when I get to the blue welcome screen the immage on the external monitor dies. I would really appreciate any help. I have a MBP 2.0, 1gig, 15", etc. Are there any other drivers out there? Whats the optimum solution for video drivers for the MBP under XP? thanks. non sequitur
i do know that someone has extracted the video drivers somewhere... maybe your download was mucked up or the burn was weird. id try to find those somewhere on these forums, i know ive seen them in the last week or two. i have the same config macbookpro, and my dirvers work fine. if the drivers just dont work for you, make sure the card works correctly in os x. if it doesnt work in osx, id jump on the chance to repair or exchange. i couldnt help but notice that you play wwIIol. i am part of =SGI=, which is a division of |3CD| if you have ever heard of them. they play a lot of WWIIOL with 2AB and id say there are more than a hundred members. if you ever feel like getting in a division for allies, check out 3cdgamers.com. Colonel
I can get you the installer for all of the drivers, but I can't manage to get the individual video driver. avatar69
1. WWIIOnline - hehehe...I am the DCoS Axis forces Tautu is in-game name 2. The drivers work well for me - on everything EXCEPT - WWIIOnline - where the screen is upside down AND for outputting to an external monitor. The only way I have been able to output to an external monitor in XP is by switching off the LCD display and running only on the external one. For some reason my drivers recognize the external monitor as 2 monitors (primary and secondary) and the LCD as tertiary. So I need to shut it off in the control panel (name??) and leave the 2 external displays (I only have one - but its recognized as 2 for some reason) on. This way I can use the external monitor but not the LCD screen at the same time. Under the Omega drivers - the game works - but I cant output to an external monitor. And the video card is not recognized properly. ;((( Go figure. The card works fine in OSX, and in XP otherwise. Have you actually played WWII online properly in XP, and with an external monitor?? Or other games? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/20002-xp-video-drivers/#findComment-133469 Share on other sites

Darth_Hangover
Did you try installing the regular ATI Radeon Drivers (I think they're up to 6.6). I heard that you shouldn't install the Mobility Drivers 'cause they won't work, but the standard catalyst release should work fine. I'm using Omega, though, and haven't noticed any problems - yet.
