kalle_19 Posted June 17, 2006 Share Posted June 17, 2006 Hi! I have a Mac mini with a CoreDuo@1.66ghz. OS X (10.4.6) changes the cpu freq when the cpu are idle in a MacBook. Maybe that function is speedstep? Is it possible to "enable" SpeedStep in os x without a battery source, or maybe enable the function that MacBook uses?? Maybe i could sett tha maximum and minimum freq in some way.. I tried speedit, but it did not work as expected. Btw, Is there any good voltage monitor for os x x86? Some people are currently investigating the dynamicspeedstepping of the core processors. Search for DynamicSpeedStep. kalle_19 Posted June 17, 2006 Author Share Posted June 17, 2006 i saw that thread... but the thing is: macbook uses some feature to lower the multipler and/or the voltage. That feature is builtin in os x. If you replace the cpu in a macbook with ordinary t2300, the function still works...
