thecorndogking
First PC: MSI Wind 100u, running Win 7 Pro x86 atm, installed via geeksquad 8gb usb stick. Second PC: Gateway SX2800-3 Slimline Desktop, running Win 7 Pro x64 atm, would like to keep it as a Windows machine. Third PC: Custom Built: AMD X2 5200+, this board (Nvidia MCP61 based), 512MB GForce 8600 GTS, 2x1GB DDR2 800Mhz, 40GB PATA HDD, 2x500GB Seagate 7200.11 SATA HDD's, and some kind of DVD+-R/RW/DL optical drive. running Win 7 Home Prem x64 atm. So really I guess I'd like to Apple up the Third PC, but if it would be easier to do the 1st or 2nd I'm game. Thanks in advance to any/all who reply. AzN_DJ
Your second system would be your easiest option..... 1. MSI Wind - the problem is with upgrading to 10.6.2, you will need a patched kernel. The same applies to your AMD system, as you are running AMD and you would need a modbin kernel. You can do the MSI Wind not being so hard, as it is well documented, but its the kernel that has the problem and you will have to find a modded kernel before installing 10.6.2 - but can you really use a hackintosh well on such an underpowered pc and a small screen? Thank you AzN_DJ. One thing, I've not found any posts from other SX2800-3 owners using this system & I've heard bad things about Intel's GMA4500 chipset on OS X. Is there any truth to this?
