quake
I have two IDE hard drives. One has XP and the other Iatkos v7. Now I want to connect them to the same cable to dual boot. They both boot up no problem when on the IDE cable solo. They are both installed with MBR. I've been messing with this for the last few days and could not get it right. How do I go about setting them on the ribbon and which should be slave and master. Once connected, how do I get them linked so I have a boot choice. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/198991-ok-made-it-this-far-now-i-need-a-little-guidance/ Share on other sites
quake
bump Update,,OK, i have connected both HD, and rebooted. It booted into Leopard as normal and once booted it shows my XP disk on the desktop. Now, is it easier to make dual boot from xp or leo? srs5694
You need to install or configure a boot loader. There are many options. I don't know what iAtkos installs by default, but I suggest you find out and then search for information on configuring it -- or just search for information on boot loaders generally. There are a gazillion threads on the subject -- which should itself serve as an indicator of how confusing the topic can be!
