Hi All,

Specs:

- Badaxe2 Mobo

- Nvidia 8800 GT video card w/ 512 mb ram

I was very happy with my Leo4All, vanilla kernal 10.5.2 installation. I made a few tweaks over a year ago and it worked great, including Quartz Extreme w/ NVInject.

Then my roommate runs software update. oops. There goes the installation.

So I figure I'll use the oppurtunity to upgrade, so I get iPC and install it. No display at all with NVInject but it worked with NVDarwin.

NVDarwin does not support Quartz Extreme. Lame. So I figure out the problem with NVInject was that with a single monitor you have to use the DVI port closest to the motherboard. Who'd have known it. So I get NVInject .21 to work great by plugging in the monitor to the DVI out. However, QE is still not working.

So, I edit the PLIST in NVInject and change IOProbe from 66,000 to 0. This is supposed to fix it. Instead it caused my display to go black. So I single user mode in, and restore NV Darwin. That works. For kicks I try to NV Kush installer. That works, but again, no QE.

I try to use EFI studio, but I get the error "your valume must be a guid partition"

I am at my wits end. This all worked with leo4all 10.5.2. Any advice?

Thanks!

Hmm. My recommendation is try iAtkos with just NVinject and the EFI string. That worked perfectly when I borrowed a friend's 8800 GTS before I got my 9400 GT.

I have a 8800 GT not a GTS, but I have not tried iAtkos. I'll give that a shot. I don't think it will solve my core problem though which is that NVInject isn't supporting quartz extreme on my 8800 GT.

I tried EFI studio but I get the error about the guid partition... any advice?

Hi all, so I have now fully followed the EFI String guide, but determined that I do not have EFI 8, so that didn't work. I also tried to add my device ID to the various NV kexts, no dice on QE. I tried NVenabler but could only find version 0.1 and got an OS error evertime I put it in the extensions folder, and it didn't work.

Wits end - any other ideas?
