Kaoxyd
Hello everyone ! Before start, i precise that I'm not English, I'm French so my English will be bad . May be I have to go on French sub forum, but the 2 last time, I don't have any answer. So, I have a Sony Vaio FS215E, and I want to install Mac OS X on. I try with iAtkos 1.7 and iDeneb 1.4, but i have the famous message "Still waiting for root device". I try all solutions to resolve the problem. Nothing work. Just one that I can't try : The SATA USB drive. My laptop doesn't want to boot on USB, this option is not in the BIOS. I tried with a CD (lplbtin i think, i'm not sure), it not boot. Just a black screen. I don't know what to do now ... So, like I said before, FS215E is a laptop, with a DVD rewriter, without floppy drive. My USB drive is a NEC 3520A IDE, I installed MacOS with it on my (How to say that, Desktop computer ?) and it worked. Now, i don't know if it's the problem ... So, is there an alternative solution for "Still waiting for root device" ? Does my USB drive is the problem ? Thank's Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/198801-vaio-fs215e-still-waiting-for-root-device/ Share on other sites
Lord_Jeremy
Hmm. The last time I had that problem I solved it by removing the IDE optical drive. What exactly do you mean by SATA USB? Are you saying you have USB ports that are connected through SATA? I'm probably missing something, sorry...
