frtommy
Hi, to all. I hope someone reply me. I have a strange problem with my Notebook. I format 2 time, but I had the same result. My notebook: Acer Extensa 5220 CPU Intel Celeron 560 Intel GMA x3100 ALC268 BCM 4315 ( or 12 i don't remember ) WIFI BCM5787M for LAN 1x1gb ram Acer + 1x2gb kingston. Both DDR2 and same frequency. I install with cd boot and SL 10.6.0 GM DvD It works perfect until update to new 10.6.2 and kernel 10.2.0 before update I change NullCPU kext with the new on Netkas blog, and repair permission with kext utility. After I start the update. Reboot and at chameleon I choose the SL partition. 2 second after the choose , my notebook restart. Every time I choose the partition , the notebook restart. I try to start in: arch=i386 arch=x86_64 arch=i386 -v arch=i386 -x -v arch=i386 -x -v -f arch=x86_64 -v arch=x86_64 -x -v arch=x86_64 -x -f -v but same restart. I start SL in my partition on HD USB. After change the mach kernel 10.2.0 in SL in HD notebook, with mach_kernel 10.0.0. Restart. Now with the old kernel notebook start and don't restart. I can work with 10.6.2 but only with kernel 10.0.0 I hope some one can help me. Thank you very very much for your time. Sorry for my english errors. Bye bye. Mietas
I have this problem. 10.2.0 kernel modified for Atom boots successfully on Extensa, but only in 32bit. I searching a way to run this in 64bit. Any fix for this? I searching a way to run this in 64bit. Any fix for this? Hi. I tryied the kernel 10.2.0 for Atom, but I don't boot at desktop. Now I think the kernel for atom is update, and I think I'll try again. If I boot I try in 64bit. MietasSR_PL what are kexts you put in EXTRA EXTENSIONS and in System/Library/Extensions? Thank you. Bye bye. Mietas
I don't have kexts in /Extra/Extensions, I only have a fakesmc.kext, VoodooHDA.kext, VoodooPS2Controller.kext in /System/Library/Extensions. Nothing more. System is successfully booting to desktop on Atom kernel, but only on 32-bit. I actually using 10.0.0 vanilla kernel on 64-bit and all works great Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/198241-acer-extensa-5220-update-problem/#findComment-1372059 Share on other sites
