Ok so I re decorated my house and the Hackintosh had to be disconnected temporarily (3 days) but when I put it back together and booted I had no sound. So first thing I do is check 'Audio Midi Setup' but it says "Unknown Device" meaning my audio interface is not being recognized at all. The thing about the FA-66 is it uses apples core audio so there is no need for drivers and it should be plug and play. I unplugged it, plugged it back in... nothing. Turned off my computer, unplugged it, turned computer on and plugged it back in... nothing. I even deleted plists that I thought may be related to audio but still nothing. Basically i've tried everything, even a fresh install of Mac OSX and after many hours of struggling to install with snow leopard I decided that there must be a way to fix the problem without a fresh install.

My temporary solution:

Airphones iPhone app, Stereo auxiliary to 3.5mm headphone cable from FA-66 to iPhone. Thing is the FA-66 is getting power from firewire and as a standalone device it is working but my Hackintosh doesn't seem to want to use it!

I mean I have sound but as an audiophile the quality is killing me, not to mention I need to ins and outs of my FA-66 for recording.

Hope someone can help :P

Thanks
