karlcloudy
Hi, I'm having trouble getting my Leopard to boot up on my ASUS P5Q3 motherboard. The install was completely successful, however, the system will not make it's first boot up and locks up on some "using 16xxx clusters..." line. I am wondering what would be causing this to occur. I have the following hardware: ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe WiFi-AP @n Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 4GB Corsair XMS3 Nvidia GTX 275 Graphics card Thanks for the help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/198054-ideneb-1056-on-an-asus-p5q3-deluxe-wifi-motherboard/ Share on other sites
karlcloudy
I've noticed if I boot from a Kalyway 10.5.2 disk and specify rd=disk2s2 (the location of my mac partition), the system boots up and runs fine. It seems I need a DSDT patch from what I've been hearing around here, but I have a recent ASUS P5Q3 BIOS (2105). Even the older BIOS I have been able to find don't work, because the links are broken. I've also seen this DSDT patcher, but I have no idea how I am to use it to patch my system or whether it is for fixing the issue I'm having. karlcloudy
Turns out all I needed to do was flash my BIOS with a patched version. It was hard to find a patched version though . I the end I did find the BIOS that was for my motherboard and one that was up to date (version 2004). After flashing it worked fine Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/198054-ideneb-1056-on-an-asus-p5q3-deluxe-wifi-motherboard/#findComment-1334181 Share on other sites
