Nekrose
first, I want to update itunes to the latest so i can do the homesharing with my music. i want to share it to my hackintosh. it needs to update.. so i run an update the first time.. and then restarted and i got a b0 error. so i reinstalled it all. i tried to update software and clicked out of any system updates. i only got quicktime, airport, and itunes updated this time. same error. quick time is the only thing you need to restart to update. would that be the problem? i really dont know what makes that error. it works perfectly until i update adn reboot. help please? thanks in advance, Nekrose Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/198005-after-update-os-x-becomes-unbootable-b0-error/ Share on other sites
Lord_Jeremy
Hmm. I can't say I know what's causing this, but another user reported a similar problem before in this thread. Can you boot up with your install disk and run disk utility on the OS X install? If it reports errors, chances are you've got the same issue. Also, are you using a non-Apple kernel? If so, it could have something to do with the stuff mentioned in this thread, the CPUID {censored}. What type of CPU and motherboard do you have? Beerkex'd
Sounds like your bootloader got wiped out. This is why you should always keep an emergency Chameleon boot CD around. Go to the Voodoo Projects forum to learn how to make one. Lord_Jeremy
Forgive my ignorance, I'm fairly new to the whole Hackintosh thing. Anyway, why would a QuickTime update wipe out the bootloader? EDIT: Some research turned up this wiki article.
