So Close! I just need a little help to stop MAC OSX from freezing on start-up

This is the closest I have ever gotten to getting Vista and MAC OS X dual boot on a PC. Okay, so I installed iKATOS_v7 and then rebooted. After the reboot windows gave me that standard error, so i went ahead and repaired the windows installation using the Vista Recovery Disk. After rebooting into vista I used EASY BCD to add a generic x86 MAC entry into the bootloader and then I rebooted. Upon reboot, I selected the MAC option from the windows boot menu. This started up chameleon. In chameleon I selected the MAC OSX install and MAC began to start-up. Eventually a small Grey "no" symbol appeared on the center of the screen, but MAC kept loading. Eventually I gave up on waiting for it to start up, because it seems that MAC had "hung". So now I ask, how do I stop MAC from hanging on start-up. Any ideas?

EDIT: My mobo is: GA-EP45-UD3P and this is what I meant by the "no" symbol in case I was unclear 001.jpg

Doesn't anyone know what: "Still waiting for root device" means?

Have a look at this http://www.insanelymac.com/2009/05/still-w...or-root-device/

Also search this site for that message. I know i've seen topics on it here before. Good luck.

I tried looking at an article about this problem. The resolution is to switch the hard drive that MAC OSX is installed on, to the Primary Master Hard drive instead of Primary Slave. I'm not sure if it is safe to do this though. Currently I have 3 Hard drives and Both Mac and Windows are installed on different partions on the second Primary Slave hard drive. My other two hard drives are Data hard drives that contain lots of files. So If I switch the Hard drives around will I still be able to boot into windows and not ruin anything? Or is there some kext that allows MAC to be installed on a hard drive other then the primary master?
