Hi to all

I have an old scsi controller adaptec 2940AU and I want to find a driver for my osx 10.5.6 installation.

I performed a lot of search and I guess that I need to find the file 78XXSCSI.kext for that purpose.

I have googled the whole internet and the only file I cannot find is the 78XXSCSI.kext or 78XXSCSI.kext.zip or 78XXSCSI.kext.sitx or 78XXSCSI.kext.gz or ........ ........

Please could you provide me a link in order to download this 78XXSCSI.kext or suggest me any other driver in order to make this scsi controller work?

Thank you all for your time.

I finally found the Adaptec78XXSCSI.kext from a torrent (tiger-x86.tar.bz2) ;)

I have installed this kext with the kexthelper but cannot be loaded:

bash-3.2# kextload -t Adaptec78XXSCSI.kext

kextload: extension Adaptec78XXSCSI.kext appears to be loadable

11IOCDBDevice is not compatible with its superclass, 9IOService superclass changed?

kextload: a link/load error occured for kernel extension Adaptec78XXSCSI.kext

link/load failed for extension Adaptec78XXSCSI.kext

(run kextload with -t for diagnostic output)

My osx version is "XxX 10.5.6"

bash-3.2# uname -a

Darwin hariss-g31m-es2l.local 9.6.0 Darwin Kernel Version 9.6.0: Mon Nov 24 17:37:00 PST 2008; root:xnu-1228.9.59~1/RELEASE_I386 i386

Well done! :thumbsup_anim:

I've been looking everywhere to find some form of driver for my AHA-2940UW.

If you manage to get it working, please let me know how and if I beat you to it, I'll make sure I let you know.

If you can let me know where you found the kext file, that would be great.

Good luck with your SCSI card!

Barry.
