Charlie97L
hey guys- first off, sorry if this is in the wrong forum area. I'm pretty new to the board. I recently followed the Lifehacker snow leopard install guide, and I'm happily up and running with 10.6.0 However, despite having 8 gb of ram installed, it only sees 4gb. In the Mac system information area, it appears that it is not seeing the dual channel aspect of the RAM, as each stick is reading as 2gb, not 4gb. I have the Gigabye GA EP45 UD3P mobo, and Patriot PDC24G6400ELK 4GB x 2. Do I have to enable a setting in the BIOS or in SL? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much! tritron
Does your bios shows full 8 gb of memory? Are you running snow leopard 64 bit? MacUser2525
Does your bios shows full 8 gb of memory? Exactly and if it does not then it is time to check for BIOS update/compatibility of the 4gb sticks in the machine. Are you running snow leopard 64 bit? Does not matter if using 32bit then PAE will be enabled allowing access to greater than the ~3.5gb 32bit limit so it would be seen.
