Edwin7
I did the USB Retail Install using the "It's Magic" EP45 mod and everything seems to work fine. I update to 10.6.2 with no issues. A few things that get me is that it boots 64-bit by default and I cannot write to NTFS drives, even after running the terminal commands. Another thing that I have been having problems with (even before updating to 10.6.1 and 10.6.2) is time machine just doesnt work. It recognizes the drive (USB or eSATA) but then the icon on the taskbar shows "Waiting to back up". I select "Back up now" and it does nothing, just showing when the next backup will take place. It has yet to do a successful backup but no errors either!!! I have not tried running 32-bit mode yet because I am not familiar on how to boot with this bootloader certain modes or what the flags are. In respect to the NTFS, I did do the codes many many times and I even downloaded NTFSMounter ans it just installs and then just quits from the taskbar right away. I have tried running it in 32-bit more AND using rosetta and nothing. If anyone has any input on this it would be greatly appreciated it. Everything else works just fine! I had similar problems with my dual boot. log into windows and browsing around the drive then shut down properly. Now log into SL. everything should be fine. shorty9861
I have exactly the same problem. I have a separate 320 gig HD for TM; SL recognizes the disk and everything seems fine but it just won't back up. I can ask it to "backup now" or wait the scheduled time and nothing happens. Could I need a kext repair? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/197678-sl-1062-time-machine-issues-ntfs-writing/#findComment-1338332 Share on other sites
Quinntharr
I had the same problem as you. I have Chameleon 2 RC3 as a boot loader, and they say that you don't need PlatformUUID.kext, because Chameleon solves the UUID problem. However I installed it with Kext Utility, edited my UUID, and on the next reboot Time Machine worked just fine. Hope this helps. Steve Thank you for the info, I am a total noob, so how would this work? I used the EP45 "Its Magic" Installer so I am not so sure which bootloader it uses. Thank you! Edwin7
TM seems to be working now AND my 285 GTX shows up properly with correct amount of VRAM after I did this: http://stellarola.tumblr.com/post/23846198...-update-ud3p-v3 Weird thing is that I was already on 10.6.2 and all I did was run the installer, restarted and done. The resolution on the bootloader is default (not 1920x1200 as my native), but none the less it works! but yet no update on NTFS writing...
