rdalrt
Hello all. I can't for the life of me get my Hackintosh to boot 64 bit kernel. I have tried everything I can find on the net so far to make it work, but it won't. P6T Deluxe V2 i7 920 EVGA GTX260 1792mb 12 gigs Corsair Intel x-25 80GB SSD Got SL 10.6.2 installed and working perfectly as long as I boot with the following kernel arg: -pci0 arch=i386 busratio=20 Booting with Chameleon RC3 and PC EFI 10.5. Any suggestions about what the problem may be or options to try? Thanks. fc bayern
To get 64-bit two things need to be done (I need to update the guide to reflect this too): 1) Remove the arch=i386 from your Boot.plist file (location varies depending on whether you did it to EFI, System Partition, or External boot medium). 2) Delete Extensions.mkext and build a new one using Kext Utility. Make sure to put this file back where you deleted the old one. Alternatively you can just drop a folder called "Extensions" in your Extra directory with all the kexts from the KEXTs folder. here's the link http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...89052&st=60 I have P6t deluxe v1, and everything works PERFECT thanks to TWEAK41 guides, one of the most accurate on the net, no false till now. rdalrt
I have done what you suggested already. Problem is, when I remove the arch=i386 flag, the system does not boot. It just sits there and spins and spins. rdalrt
Welp, I got it working. I am not sure how. I started playing around with installing SL on another drive in the same machine. When I booted the new install on the other disk, I started it in 64 bit. Then the next time I started up from the first/original install, I was able to boot it 64 bit and remove the kernel flags. Has been working fine ever since. Weird?
