Donk, I was eager to share the info. and havent formally written up a guide.

Also, your guide is excellent except it does not work with OSX Server Snow Leopard.

Well it does for me as I am using SL Server on my PC, so what did you do differently? Maybe I can help incorporate it into the work I am currently doing to run 64-bit kernel on SL in VMware. PM me if you want to discuss offline.

I'm also running SL Server 10.6 with stuff from Donk and Zenith so I don't understand why you need to write yet another guide? This entire forum section is filled with conflicting stuff and confusing chatter.

Would be good to get it in the wiki.

Dito!

Donk's guide is sufficient for 10.5/10.6 Client/Server.

Also for "windows guys"...

:D

As per Donk's comment, all the work Donk has done to get OS X to run under VM is based on Apple's T's & C's re virtualisation, to cut to the chase, you are allowed to run SL or L "Server" in a virtual environment provided the hardware platform is a genuine Mac. So VMware were legally able to include the relevant code, or to be more specific "darwin.iso", to support OS X in a Fusion 2 or 3 environment.

So the Darwin-200 zip, for Workstation 7, file tricks VM in to thinking it is running OS X Server, which if you check your VM you will see, even if your retail OS X is client or desktop, great work from the Legend that it is Donk.

But the point of the "Mac SoFK Ranting" :D is if you have a legal copy of Server it should work following Donks manual, as I and countless others have done, see Donks original topic.

Good luck!

P.S. We are here to help!
