lingo124
Hello. I have an HP DV2610 US. I can not get my hard drive recognized by the installer. I have a 20gb chunk partitioned out as FAT 32, which is where I want to install the Mac. However, the disk utility only shows my dvd as a volume for installing. My FAT 32 partition and my whole hard drive even wont show up. STATS: CPU: AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-58 (1.9GHz dual core, 65nm process, 31W TDP) RAM: 4GB DDR2-667 Gskills (2x2GB) Hard Disk: 160GB 5400rpm Hitachi Travelstar Optical Drive: DVD-RAM w/ Lightscribe Graphics: nVidia GeForce 7150M Integrated Graphics Wireless: Broadcom 802.11b/g and HP Bluetooth Battery: 6-cell Li-ion Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium Accessories: Built-in webcam and media reader, modem, ethernet, etc. I've tried Kalyway, iPC, iDeneb, and Leo4all. None of them recognize my hard drives. Kalyway I used 10.5.2, iDeneb v1.4, Leo4all 10.5.2, and iPC 10.5.6. All were AMD compatible and they all booted up to the boot screen and I could proceed with installation until the step where I have to select a partition, which was pretty much the 2nd step only haha. Any help would be cool. Thanks. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/197188-need-help-install-on-hp-dv2610-us-hd-not-recognized/ Share on other sites

mikewill57
I have the dv2416 w/working 10.5.4 on it using Leo4All. Not 100% on what my HDD is though, but this is the steps I took to partition it. FYI, this will erase your HDD so BACK UP!! Most of the guides I've read that seemed successful look to start with a blank HDD and then either go Vista/7 or Leo for the first install. Good luck.. 1. backup your stuff since you are going to reformat 2. (launch windows 7 3. press Shift+fn+f10 4. this will launch command prompt 5. type in the following diskpart (windows partition manager) select disk 0 (this selects your main hard disk) clean (this will format it) convert GPT (this converts it to GPT [mac partition table]) create partition EFI size=200 (creates efi partition) create partition primary size=xx (this is your mac partition, replace xx with the size you want it to be in megabytes) create partition primary size=xx (this is your windows partition, replace xx with size) select partition 3 (this selects your windows partition) format fs=ntfs quick (this formats it) assign letter c (tricks windows into installing here) 6. now turn off your computer and boot into mac os x installer Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/197188-need-help-install-on-hp-dv2610-us-hd-not-recognized/#findComment-1329677 Share on other sites
