Beerkex'd
Try booting with -x (safe mode) Plug your monitor into the output that's closest to the motherboard. Use a DVI <-> VGA adaptor if you have to. Mikethebike
Thanks that made it better. Actually safe mode came up nicely but I forgot the normal user pwd. Anyway rebooting normally brings a good resolution altough still only 60hz. In fact I need to test some openGL application. Do I need to install some openGL on iatkos 4.1? Link? Do i need to activate some 3D...59hz seems low at 1280x800 with a GeForce 8800GTS 512Mb. Thanks again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/197057-install-was-ok-pressed-accidentally-resolution-button/#findComment-1327304 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
Available refresh rates depend on your monitor, not your video card. If you want to see if OpenGL works, try running one of the OpenGL screensavers that come with Leopard. Download OpenGL Extensions Viewer and run the tests. Beerkex'd
No, the video drivers take care of that. What injection method are you using? I found something for a GeForce 8800 GTS but probably this wasn't for the newer chip (G92??) with 512MB. I might also have done something the wrong way round... Beerkex'd
PC video cards don't speak EFI so they are not compatible with OS X as-is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extensible_Firmware_Interface If you want hardware accelerated graphics on your Hackintosh you need something that 'injects' the information that OS X expects to see from the video card. There are three ways to do it that should all result in the same thing (though NVEnabler is the only way to get TV-out working currently): Kernel extension like NVEnabler, ATY_Init.kext, CoreVidia/NVDarwin or NVInject (there are many more) add the video card data to your DSDT Graphics Enabler built into Chameleon 2.0 or the latest PCI-EFI bootloader Pick whatever suits you best, but don't use more than one injection method at once. If you're already using Chameleon or PCI-EFI, just add GraphicsEnabler = 1 to your com.apple.Boot.plist. Mikethebike
---- If you're already using Chameleon or PCI-EFI, just add GraphicsEnabler = 1 to your com.apple.Boot.plist. ---- Yes I'm using Chamaleon after Grub but I can't find com.apple.Boot.plist. Actually how could I change my keyboard layout? I tried find / -name ... but no " keys on my system. Many thanks again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/197057-install-was-ok-pressed-accidentally-resolution-button/#findComment-1333526 Share on other sites
Beerkex'd
Go to the VoodooProjects forum and read the Chameleon FAQ and documentation. You can change your keyboard layout in System Preferences.
