tazrunter
Hi all! I installed Snow Leopard on my PC (dual boot) and basically everything works just fine! There's only one strange thing: When I boot without proper graphics settings (without EFI strings/kexts or -x) I can start using the OS right after it finishes booting, that is when the desktop appears (bad graphics quality though, of course). However, when I add my graphics device (NVidia 8400 GS 512), graphics quality is fine but the screen freezes after booting for about 2 minutes. I can move the mouse pointer normally but the actions I make within the 2 minutes are processed only afterwards. It's no matter of using EFI strings or kexts... I tried strings as well as different kexts. Does anybody here have a solution? I mean, I could live with it if it turns out there's none, but I'd certainly prefer a kext to put in... :-) Thanks! lord_webi
try Disabler.kext ... check your EFI String again, try a different one ... tazrunter
Thanks for the quick reply. Disabler.kext won't work, since it's made for 32-bit, as far as I know... Well, there is a 64 bit version of Disabler.kext, but you can also try NullCPUPowerManagement.kext. Maybe this works for you.
