ninspector
Hello, everyone! I have a Msi Wind U100 and recently I installed Leopard 10.5.4 on it and successfully upgraded to 10.5.7, my version is a mac osx version specific for msi wind: MSI OSX86.iso most of the things works fine, except the well-known problem of the internal mic and line-in. But today I check the webcam, I found Leopard does not recognize the built-in webcam, so do the skype and Ichat. as is described by many people, the built-in camera should work fine immediately after the installation of msi OSX.iso, but obviously I am not so lucky. then I search for the kext drivers and download paul's driver pack and msi osx driver pack, but the kext files are only concerned with video card and audios, nothing related to the built-in camera. some one also mentioned camtwist, whose functions is to add special effect to the videos, I wondered if camtwist works in my case, or, I would like to find a formal solution to the camera (e.g. the driver), It would be very grateful of you to give me an answer, thanks for your time. JeanLuc7
MSI used two different version of the Bison CAM with different firmware. One of them leads to a running Webcam (using Photobooth), the other results in green stripes but no stable picture. You cannot update the firmware yourself so you will be stuck with the non-functional camera. I am sorry to not have better news for you. Ok. The webcam problem happened to me too. Have you turned the webcam on? To do this (While in OS X) Press the "Fn" (Function key) and "F6" keys on your keyboard (Press them together) Now go into ichat and stuff and see if it works. (If not try rebooting). If it still doesn't work look for a blue icon with a picture of a webcam on it on the F1 F2 F3 keys etc. Press that while holding "Fn" F6 should be the webcam though. For line in to work Install this driver: http://www.mediafire.com/?qtjwtnyqnnl If you now can't get sound for some odd reason install the driver you had installed before.
