I kinda have the same problem. I used Mac's Disk Manager to create a 35GB Mac partition, a 22GB fat32 partition to share files with Vista and a 23GB partition for Vista.

Mac OsX can access the "shared" fat32 partition but it messes up the data.

example:

i copied my documents to a folder i called "documents" and then I copied my mp3s to a folder I called "music". after copying the mp3's MacOSX shows me 2 folders called "music" with both times the exact same content (my mp3's). I cannot access the documents folder in the finder, but they are still there. I know that cuz I have my own html startpage stored in that folder and safari opens it up every time and i can see it (and my other documents) with the correct path when i search for them in spotlight.

could it be that for some reason the finder has problems reading fat32 partitions?

I'm new to macosx so i don't know how or where to look for a solution. i guess for the time beeing i have to access my documents by searching for them in spotlight. i will try to set up a smart folder for documents in the finder, maybe that'll help.

i'll get back to y'all with my findings...

never mind, a restart did the trick.

after rebooting i had my documents folder, my music folder, and a 3rd folder named "untitled" with a 2nd copy of my mp3s. i deleted that 3rd one and now i'm back on track...

weird thing, though. i hope this doesnt happen every time i copy stuff to that partition...
