But for this, what I did was, I saw the messages while OSX installs. What drivers does it select while installing. Please check if you have ACPI enabled while installing. Next 2-3 messages while you were installing would also help you. Another reason could be a mouse or keyboard. PS2 mouse & keyboard generally give problems. Use USB mouse and keyboard. Do not select everything!!!! it gives traceback. You would need to do some try and error to get it right. After installation you can preserve the /var/log/install.log which contains what you have selected at the time of installation Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195758-still-waiting-for-root-device-problem-_/#findComment-1339392 Share on other sites
Lord_Jeremy
Another thing that could cause this problem is an unsupported disk controller. Do you know if you've got any IDE drives? (That includes optical drives) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195758-still-waiting-for-root-device-problem-_/#findComment-1340324 Share on other sites
