yurako
Hey guys, After two weeks of misery and no success , I decided to write here... Me and my friend are truing to install Windows 7 and MAC0S on my PC. The problem is that I can't dual boot. I am installing Kalyway. Windows 7 is working fine on its own. MAC OS is also working fine when installed by its own. However, when I install Win7 and then MACOS - nothing works - none can be booted. I read a bunch of manuals hee, also tried to install Win7 and then to use EasyBCD and also tried Acronis, but nothing helped... just cant boot MACOS... A friend of mine told me that the reason could be that previously, I have applied a patch to windows 7 that disables the 30-day time limitation. He has told me that it might have done some change in the MBR ( Master Boot Record) and now I cant dual boot (even when I reinstall...) Might this ne a reason? Any other suggestions/thoughts? Thanks! Neil138Honky
i believe you have to look into fixing the windows boot first using a windows 7 disk. and then installing a boot loader from within windows. but if your not seeing a darwin boot loader after installing osx then i cant help there. edit: this is the guide i used to set my dual boot up http://www.geardiary.com/2009/01/21/dual-b...-and-windows-7/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/195047-cant-dual-boot-windows-7-and-macos/#findComment-1315297 Share on other sites
yurako
I installed Windows and installed Easy BCD and added the second partiotion for the MAC ( before installing the MAC). Then I installed the MAC, but it ruined the boot ( that was created bu EasyBCD) I repaired it with the Win7 disk and booted into Win7. Then, tried to add the MAC partition to EasyBCD, but the partition is hidden ( probably becasue it is of typ e journaled, or something...). So when both Win7 and MAC are installed, I cant install bootloader (p.s. I also tried to install Chameleon, but it also did not work...) michaspoli
I can boot the win7 with chameleon Bootloader, when Windows 7 is at his own Harddisk, and a empty HFS or Fat Partition is before the Win7 Partition. First Disk - Leo or Snowleo with Chameleon. GPT Second Disk - Windows 7 on second Partiton. First Partiton Empty HFS. All Sata at Intel Onboard That works.
