bofors
This really has nothing to with OSx86, but just in case anyone can help I am posting it here. I just got a Hitachi T7K250 SATA II (3.0 Gbps) hard drive and am trying to set to use SATA II. Hitachi provides it's "Feature Tool" software to do this and which is supposed to work like a BIOS flash, where you create a CD or floppy with with the "Feature Tool" software on it and boot off of it. My problem is that Feature Tool appears to hang on "Detecting Primary IDE Device..." shortly after launching. I have tried both the CD and floppy verisions, disconnecting my IDE drives and toggling BIOS drive settings to no affect. I am planning to call Hitachi on Monday. Anyone??? bofors
I just got of the phone with Hitachi and they are suggesting that the problem is the RAID functionality of my board's chipset (ICH7R). So, either I have to find someother machine to enable SATA II my T7K250 on or try to use a PCI SATA card (without RAID).
