Orr3
Hello everyone! I just signed up today because I'm having some problems with installing Leopard. I've probably tried to install it over 10 times now without any success I followed this guide and he really recommended this forum so I hope you can help me! My System: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Gigabyte DS3 P35 Corsair 520W Nvidia 8800GT 512mb 2x Corsair DDR2 800MHz 1GB Samsung 320GB Western Digital 1TB D-LINK DWA-547 (for wireless internet) Optical drive (don't know the specifications, but it's kinda new) All my drives is using SATA. So I've been taking some pictures while I installed so it would be easier for you to help me. I can't seem to find what's wrong. CLICK ME TO SEE PICTURE! 1. So I choose English language so it would be easier for you to understand (I'm Swedish) 2. Loading... 3. Clicked Continue 4-5. Made a partition on my Samsungs harddrive 6. Selected my newly made partition 7. Click customize 8. Choose the Swedish package 9. Right option for me graphics card? 10-12. Read in my motherboard manual, so think that this is the right drivers 13. Should I patch the USB-drivers? 14. I use a PS/2 Keyboard 15. Yepp, so that's it. I didn't choose any alternative bootloaders or applications because I didn't know what they did. 16. Starts checking the disk 17. Starts installing OS X 18. YAY Succeeded! (at least that's what it says) 19. The computer have restarted. Shouldn't there be 2 options there now? The install DVD and my harddrive? Anyway, I write "-v -f" as it says in the guide. 20. Can anyone analyse this? I don't know what's wrong 21. After all the text the install DVD just starts again Anyone here now know what the problem might be? I really want this to work. BTW anyone know drivers to my D-LINK DWA-547? That would also be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! michaspoli
Your Board have not a ICH 10 Chip. Try ICH-X and jmicron , nothing more. And eject your DVD after installing. You Boot your DVD again. Go to Bios and verify if AHCI enable at Intel Controller and Jmicron Controller. If you have questions, ask me . You Boot your DVD again. Go to Bios and verify if AHCI enable at Intel Controller and Jmicron Controller. If you have questions, ask me . Thank you will try that! My board is ICH9 chip! And it stands "Drivers for Intel ICH10/9 chipsets". So thought that it was the right. Thanks for the help and fast answer will try this right away! Feel kinda stupid that I booted my dvd again EDIT: "SATA ACHI MODE" was disabled. Should I change it to "ACHI"? The only options I can choose is ACHI or Disable. I couldn't find anything that said Jmicron Controller. Is there anyother name for it? EDIT2: Tried now without the DVD in the drive and now it worked...until I got the message "still waiting for root device", I guess I have to change my Leopard drive to Primary? Or can it be that I choose the wrong chipset? Yes, choose AHCI for Intel SATA- in the same Bios menue below you should find the options for the jmicron controller. This Controller ist for the IDE PORT OR FOR THE OTHER Coloured SATA Ports at the Board. Never thought that! I'm mega happy! Thank you! Guess I have to learn a lot now how to use OS X, first time using it now! The only problem I have is that the sound isn't working. I had a lot of problems with that on Windows XP too. You know what sound driver it is to Gigabyte DS3? Thanks agai! Also need help with this one. I have a 1TB harddrive with just media, HD movies, music, pictues. Right now it's NTFS. Can't see that with OS X. Will FAT32 work on both operating systems with files over 4GB? EDIT: Ignore that! The sound also works now! I'm happy. Didn't think everything would work so great immediately EDIT2: Okey so I installed some updates and the computer restarted. Everytime I want to start Leopard do I have to press any key and then write "-v"? Because if I just waited and didn't press any buttons I just got to the white page with the apple logo just loading. Nothing more happened. EDIT3: After the updates the sound stopped working :S Before the updates I could choose if I had Speaker or Headphones and so on. Now after the update it just stands Line-in, Line-Out and Digital-Out! EDIT4: IGNORE EVERYTHING! I've solved the problems!
