shaun2312
Hi Guys, This wireless adapter is starting to get on my nerves, I've tried installing the drivers from the actual site and the Realtek software still doesn't work. it just jumps up and down in the dock. I have KisMAC and selecting the specific driver it picks up all of the local networks. I have found out that my Product Id is 0x8197 which i think equals to 33175 and the Vendor id which is 0x0bda equals to 3034. I can't think where to insert this on the Info.plist Any help would be appreciated. shaun2312
AHA! Got it in. It just detected a network device. However its showing as an Ethernet device. The realtek software still just bounces in the dock, Any idea how I can scan for networks? :angry2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/194345-realtek-8187b/#findComment-1311813 Share on other sites

shaun2312
For those that need to refer to this in the future. Initially downloaded the Official drivers from Realtek Here, Install that package and restart. I then browsed to /System/Library/Extensions and looked for RTL8187Bt.kext took a copy onto my desktop and right clicked on it and clicked Show package contents. Go into Contents and there is a info.plist. Edit the info.plist - In here I looked for Realtek and some product id. I found it and put mine in which I found out was 33175 and the vendor id was 3034. You can get the hex of this via System Profiler. I then used OSX tools to install the KEXT Here Restarted and upon loading up I had a Realtek popup saying to turn on the adapter via Network in System Preferences. After clicking apply it popped up with local networks. I cheer Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/194345-realtek-8187b/#findComment-1311953 Share on other sites
