Hey,

I have just installed "SnowOSX_Universal_10.6(432)GM-v3.5". The installation process went ok and after greatings Apple brought me to its Desktop. However, almost anything worked there - neither USB nor the Internet. I have found out that Intel GM45 motherboard is unsupportable but maybe there are any ways to overcome it?

My tech specs:

Toshiba Satellite A300

CPU: Mobile DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo T6400, 2000 MHz (10 x 200)

Motherboard Chipset: Intel Cantiga GM45

Video Adapter: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470 (256 MB)

Thank you

The OSX86 wiki says:

http

://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...#Inspiron_1545

Issues:

The graphics card is an Intel 4500MHD (GM45), so there is no QE/CI support, and a resolution of 1024x768. The only workaraound to get the native 1366x768 resolution is to have a working linux installation, and to replace the bootloader with GRUB2, patched with a modded 915resolution, like explained in this post.

Here is an already patched grub2, including GM45 additional patches, grab from here.

The original howto is here.

Does it mean that the GM45 is patched?

I'd try this myself but the Linux is downloading right now :( Maybe some of you would know about this :)

Thnx :D

dude dont thank us, you answered your own question. Google does wonders.

Ok, I made the wired Interent work but wireless (Intel WiFi 5100) doesn't work. The sound (Realtek A268) doesn't work too. I tires the Tabuga patch - but that causes the Kernel panic. USB dosn't work too :ninja:

What could you suggest me? :P

AFAIK osx86 doesn't work right on laptops.

from what i have read, there seems to be no support for that wifi card of yours. even the intel 3945 still doesnt have anything that works.

your quick fix might be swapping it out for a model that is reported to be working... like the 1390 or 1490.. that is what i am doing on my dell e1505

So I've made my USB work using PCGenUSBEHCI and IOUSBFamily kexts. WiFi still doesn't work but I can live without it. The biggest problem I have at the moment is sound - I have Realtek ALC268. After installing Taruga's kexts it caused a kernel panic. I run OSX86 10.6 432. What may I try? ;)
