  1. you can also try the method i used on my e1505. links on my signature. i believe the 9400 is pretty similar to the e1705... which is in turn very similar to the e1505. so, it might be worth a shot, if you ahve access to a SL retail dvd. in the method i used, you dont need a prior OSX on ur laptop or a usb-stick.. or a 2nd hardrive.. or even access to another mac
  2. [Install] Dell Latitude E6400 E6500

yes, just use the software update. works without any problem. if you are using the sleepenabler kext, you must first remove it before updating. after updates are complete, you can move it back. check here for more details if you are using sleepenabler: http://netkas.org/?p=315
  3. what OS(s)? i'm using chameleon to dual-boot SL & XP. works great. and luv the customizable bootup screen. and its very easy to setup.
  4. Broadcom 4312 mini PCI-E Snow Leopard

  5. Broadcom bcm43xx wireless driver [beta]

try this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1364000 try the above.. and if it still doesnt work.. make sure you did step 15 on this guide correctly: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=44114
  6. Which Snow Leopard to buy?

i used the $29.99 retail SL dvd to clean install on my machine without any prior versions of the MAC OS on it. The DVD infact contains the full version of the OS. also.. as you pointed out on the Apple's website: http://www.apple.com/macosx/specs.html Upgrading from Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger. If your Intel-based Mac is running Mac OS X v10.4 Tiger, purchase the Mac Box Set, which is a single, affordable package that includes Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard; iLife, with the latest versions of iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, iWeb, and iDVD; and iWork, Apple’s productivity suite for home and office including Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. the Box Set includes additional stuff.. iLife and iWork... that's why its more expensive.
  7. Snow Leopard Retail - Questions

huh? i think you have me confused with the Original Poster

that spec is for Dell Studio 1535.. is that what you have? have you look at this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=182815 and: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...les#Studio_1535
  9. Snow Leopard Retail - Questions

this is the upgrade version from apple for $29: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC223Z/A...mco=MTA4MjgwNDE but it contains the complete version. i am pretty sure that should be the same case in your region.
  10. what installation method did you use? 10.6 to 10.6.2 can be done simply via the Apple software update. Remove SleepEnabler.kext if you use it, this is very important step, old sleepenabler + new kernel = panic. more info on that at: http://netkas.org/?p=315 also remember to backup all of your kexts. you may need to re-apply them after the update. my wifi quit working after the update, and i had to use the one from my backup. dell wifi cards with the broadcom chips are working just fine on SL. i have a dw1395 on my e6400 working great. they are about $10 on ebay (shipped)
  11. Time Machine

open up Time Machine, go into Options, make sure you dont have the Macintosh HD listed as an exception.
  12. post the contents of ur com.apple.boot.plist
  13. Make bootable USB from DMG on Windows

i believe u can use Disk Utility in MAC to Restore the dmg to the flash drive.
  14. Snow Leopard Retail - Questions

the upgrade dvd in the US is actually a full version. so, you might just wanna buy the $20 one and hope its the same case. you have to use a bootcd first, then swap it out for the SL dvd. but that all depends on your system, and if a bootcd is available for it.
  15. Chameleon EFI Partition

do you have an Extra folder? if so, look in there for another com.apple.boot.plist file. you may have to edit that. and make sure you are using the proper syntax for your timeout.. and it is case sensitive. it might help if you post the contents of your com.apple.boot.plist file here for verification.
