lcollier
I have a western digital 320 GB hard drive with windows 7. I created a seperate partition on this hard drive so that I could install Mac OSx86. I checked to make sure my computer was compatible and it is. I booted the installation dvd and everything went fine, however whenever I try to boot into that hard drive it says: missing operating system. I booted back into the installation dvd and used the disk utility to repair and verify the disk on which I installed Leopard. I then type this into the terminal: /usr/misc/script.sh Leopard. It said done and did nothing. I was under the impression that would boot into the operating system. Anyway I suspect that maybe a bootloader was not installed or something? I'm not sure. Any help you could offer would be appreciated. After I repaired the disk, whenever I boot into that hard drive it just has the blinking _ in the top left corner. I guess it is no bootloader. Can anyone give me a link that would show me how to install a bootloader after installing the operating systems? thanks. Go to terminal and type these commands: fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 (replace 0 with your disk on which Leopard is installed) flag 1 (replace 1 with Leopard partition number. You will get it from Disk utilities) update quit reboot Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/194136-missing-operating-system/#findComment-1310522 Share on other sites
